Are you a good person? Have you ever measured your life by God’s standards according to the Ten Commandments to see if you are a good person?
1. How many lies have you told in your life? Even little white lies. What do you call someone who tells lies? A liar. We are all guilty of this. The Bible says that all liars will have their part in the Lake of Fire.
2. Have you ever stolen anything? Taken even something little that didn’t belong to you? Downloaded anything off the internet you weren’t suppose to? What do you call someone who steals things? A thief.
Exodus 20: 15
3. Jesus said if you look at someone with lust you commit adultery in your heart. Have you ever lusted?
4. Have you ever used God’s name in vain? Have you ever used the name of God while saying something in disgust? Ever said or texted, “OMG?” The Bible says that is blasphemy. A very serious sin in God’s eyes.
5. Have you ever been angry with someone? Jesus brings this sin down to the heart level. Jesus said that whoever has hated someone is a murderer in his heart and will be judged.
Look, I am not judging you. But by God’s standards, you are a lying, thieving, blaspheming, murdering, adulterer at heart! And that’s just 5 of the 10 Commandments that we went over.
The Bible says that all liars, thieves, adulterers, blasphemers and murderers will never inherit the Kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
We will all either end up in one of two places after we die; either we will be with God in Heaven or suffer eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire.
Every man is destined to die. And after that, the Judgment. Hebrews 9:27
Our life here on Earth compared to eternity is but a vapor. James 4:14
For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul? Mark 8:35
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hand of the Living God. Hebrew 10:31
The Bible says that even if you lived a totally perfect life, never doing even one bad thing for 80 years, yet made just one little mistake, you are just as guilty as if you committed every sin under the Sun. James 2:10
This is because you must be absolutely spotless and perfect to be allowed into Heaven. So even one tiny mistake, just one little blemish, will disqualify you from spending eternity with God in paradise and will instead condemn you to an eternity in Hell.
This is because Heaven is a place of perfection, with no sin, no fear, no mourning, no crying, and no pain. Revelation 21:4
The Bible says that nothing evil will ever enter Heaven, nor will anyone who does what is shameful. Revelations 20:27
This is bad news for all of us because the Bible says that no one is righteous, no not one. Romans 3:10
God says that we all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. Romans 3:23
And the wages of sin is death; eternal separation from God. Romans 6:23
If God judges you by the Ten Commandments on Judgment Day, would you be found innocent or guilty?
Heaven or Hell? Does that concern you?
You say, “I’m fine. I don’t need a thing.” But what you don’t realize is that you are Wretched, poor, blind and naked. Revelation 3:17
Even the best, most giving, most honest person on Earth is nothing more than a guilty criminal by God’s holy standards. No one is righteous. Ecclesiastes 7:20
You say, “Yea, I’ve made some mistakes. But I’m a good person, overall. And the good things I’ve done should outweigh the bad things.”
But even if you collected and weighed all the good things you’ve ever done in your life, they are nothing more than filthy rags in the eyes of God’s holiness. Anything we offer as righteous deeds to offset our sinful lives is an abomination to God. Isaiah 64:6
In order to get into Heaven, you must have lived a perfect and sinless life. None of us have done that.
The Bible says that we are all sinful at birth, sinful even from the time our mother conceived us. Psalms 51:5
The Bible says that we will stand naked and exposed, without excuse before the perfect and holy Judge. Hebrews 4:13;
God is love, but God is also a just God and will judge every one of us for the sinful things we have done. Revelation 20:11-13
Our entire lives, including our personal and secret thoughts and intentions, will be exposed for everyone to see. Hebrews 4:13
And everyone who is found guilty will be sentenced to eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire. Revelations 20:15
But here’s the Good News!
He’s made a way for you to be forgiven, cleansed and allowed into Heaven. 1 John 1:9
God Himself came to Earth in the human form of our Lord Jesus Christ. He lived a perfect and sinless life. The only man ever to do so. 2 Corinthians 5:21
And because of this, He is the only one who qualifies to enter Heaven based on His good works and perfect life. 1 Peter 2:22
He didn’t have to come to Earth at all. But He did this to become the perfect sacrifice for our sins to save us from the sentence of eternal punishment in Hell.
He took your place as punishment for your sins by suffering a horrific death on the cross. He paid your fine with His blood so God could dismiss your case. That’s what He did for us 2,000 years ago.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
This offer of salvation is a free gift that none of us deserve nor could ever earn by our good works. For by grace you were saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8
To get into Heaven, Jesus said, “You must be born again” John 3:3
But we must repent, which means be truly sorry for living a selfish life and for rejecting God, turn 180 degrees from our selfish lifestyle and turn to God. It means to stop living for ourselves and become slaves to Almighty God. Acts 3:19
Everyone who confesses the Name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness. 2 Tim 2:19
And we must confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9
No other religion or belief will save you or get you into heaven. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to eternal salvation with God in Heaven. John 14:6
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
What if I offered you four gifts and you could choose only one?
- The original Mona Lisa, which is priceless.
- Keys to a brand new Lamborghini.
- Ten million dollars.
- Or a parachute
Which one would you choose?
What if I offered this to you when you were on an airplane 10,000 feet up and told you that it would crash to the ground in 1 minute?
In Christianity, God provides a parachute, which is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says that we can “put on the Lord Jesus
Christ.” Romans 13:14
So just as a parachute can save you from the law of gravity and its consequences, so God perfectly solves your dilemma by providing Jesus to save you from the law of sin and its consequences of death and Hell.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
